WREK
REGGAEMATIC FLEX
"You are in tuned to
Reggaematic on WREK 91.1 with the Apocalypse Crew. You can call us up
@ ...." As Milo [me of course], Shandy & Scotch Bonnett cut through the traffic,
looking out 4 police 'cause we ridin' with expired tags, True Yardies in
foreign, on our way to the radio station for our weekly Saturday flex.
"We're giving away
tickets 4 the best Buju Impression. Caller U'r on the air!"
Ayykkoooo!!! Since moving to their new radio spot 4-6PM on a Saturday,
the Apocalypse Crew has been testing out the new perks. One being the live calling
ins which they have not fully gotten a grasp of as yet. But when they
do get callers on, it's the usual "Caller, can you turn down your
radio?" and the occasional "Alright people, let's try to
keep it clean, it's a family show!"

As we mek the flex to the
station we can hear the in studio guests taking over the radio
station, running crazy dubs, cracking nuff jokes and just vibin'
together as Ized pleads, "Can I have back my show please? ...
"Can I please have back my show? You guys are just taking
over!" This week they happen to have Dr. Dre from
Renaissance Disco, Mikey Faith from Texas and Atlanta's own Textra,
bunning a major fire and inviting the Atlanta people out to their event that
night to Atlanta's MegaPlex, The Aquarium!
"Lawx is only 1/2 an
hour lef! Is which exit again?" as Scotch Bonnett wheels through
the downtown traffic. Screeech!! We pull into the Georgia Tech
campus and make a mad dash to the entrance where we try to get buzzed
in. It took a while 4 someone to get to the door, but that's
probably because they were arguing over whose time it was to run and
get the door. Soon Ms. Escalade Bumper comes to let us in through the
door and we're good to go. Into the studio we head to join in on the
vibes. We mek the rounds, greet erBody "Yeah man, everything
cool? How the kids? You think the event going to ram tonight? The soda
machine still not working!" and just vibe out.

With Ized at the
helm, the drama continues and the radio station turns into one big
vibe spot as people come and go, babies taking interviews over the
air, people sus about the latest local drama, Papa John's delivers
pizza and of course there's a radio show stuck in between somewhere.
As the minutes wind down,
the local and visiting celebrities file out and Ized finally takes
control of the Reggaematic show, we chill and just listen as Lion Chef
mixes down the last of the tunes. "My Yute, why u mixin so
much old tunes? You don't have the new Tempo riddim? Wave in the
plane? " .... then Scotch Bonnett and Shandy are briefed that
this is the old tunes Saturday. Soon after, Buju's manager calls and
cuss how he never get to talk on the air. "But he never sound
like he was really Buju manager though!" ... We all laugh, say
our goodbyes, snap some last minute pictures and keep it moving!
